How we serve chemical shippers
Chemical freight has to match the truck to the product. DOF Ground moves chemical shipments across the United States and Canada by truckload, less-than-truckload, and, when the volume fits, intermodal. Some products are ordinary packaged freight. Others are hazardous and have to move with a carrier who is authorized to haul them, with the right paperwork on the truck.
Send the product name, whether it is hazardous, the hazard class if it is, the weight, and the equipment you need. We will not tender a regulated load to a carrier who cannot legally haul it. Non-hazardous packaged chemicals often move like any other pallet freight, by LTL or truckload.
- Tell us the hazard information before we quote, not at pickup.
- Packaging and labeling need to be in place when the driver arrives.
- Temperature-sensitive products can move in a reefer when a dry van is wrong.
