What heavy haul covers
Heavy haul is for freight that is too wide, too tall, too long, or too heavy for a standard truck. DOF Ground plans these moves across the United States and Canada. Typical pieces include construction equipment, industrial machinery, transformers, and project cargo that will not fit a routine flatbed load.
The work starts before the truck moves. We confirm dimensions and weight, choose the trailer, and line up state permits. Some loads also need pilot cars or a specific travel window. A step deck, double drop, removable gooseneck, or extendable trailer is used when a standard flatbed cannot carry the piece legally.
Project freight
A project is more than one piece. It may be a plant move, a job-site delivery sequence, or a set of loads that have to arrive in order. We schedule those trucks against the site’s receiving plan so equipment and materials show up when the crew can take them.
- Dimensions and weight for every piece, not just the largest one.
- Origin and site access, including overhead wires, tight turns, and the hours the site will receive.
- Permits and escorts where the route requires them.
Equipment
Flatbed, step deck, double drop, removable gooseneck, and extendable trailers, matched to the piece.
Permits
Oversize and overweight loads do not roll until the permits for the route are in place.
One piece or a project
A single machine can move on its own truck. A larger project is scheduled so the site receives freight in the order the work needs.
