What full truckload means here
Full truckload, or FTL, means your freight is the only freight in the trailer. The truck goes from your dock to the receiver without sharing the space. That is the right choice when you have enough volume to fill a trailer, when the product should not be handled with other shippers’ freight, or when the transit time has to stay direct.
DOF Ground moves long-haul full truckload nationwide. The trailer is dry van, or refrigerated or specialized equipment when the product needs it. Lanes run across all 50 states, Canada, and the Mexican border when the shipment is set up for it. You can book a single load or set up repeating lanes under a contract rate.
What you can expect
- A trailer dedicated to your freight, from pickup through delivery.
- Dry van as the standard, with reefer or other equipment when the product requires it.
- Tracking so you can see the load without waiting on a status call.
- A dispatcher who stays with the shipment if the appointment, the dock, or the route changes.
If the freight will not fill a trailer, less-than-truckload is usually the better fit.
Truckload or LTL
Use truckload when the freight fills the trailer or should not be transferred. Use LTL when you are paying for a portion of the trailer.
Spot or contract
A one-time load can move at a spot rate. Lanes you ship every week are better on a contract rate so the truck is planned, not searched for at the last minute.
Where it runs
Long-haul truckload runs nationwide, across all 50 states, plus Canada and Mexico on moves that are documented for the crossing.
